I will remember skiing powder with David on the mountain. Obviously, he skied like a LaChapelle with grace and fluidity (on some super skinny skis). Although I had heard about the early days of Alta a thousand times from Dolores, sharing those memories from David's perspective was completely unique. Feel lucky that I got to know him, even though it was for a short time.
Thought and prayers...

For some reason, this evening, I was guided to look up David on the web. I had met David in Boulder 1986-87 and attended many Friday evening chanting circles at his home. Many years have passed since that time and my life took me far from Boulder when I gave birth to a daughter, now 22, who was born with a heart defect AND cancer. What a teacher she was for me, as David has been for all of you. I so appreciate David's profound influence upon my life in that short time that I knew him. He truly lives with all of us still, for his heart was as filled with light as the sun which shines every day and he just went home for a while until he will return again. His love for everyone remains.
ReplyDeleteI finally visited Yosemite around Labor Day for the first time. and could feel the sacredness of this magnificent beauty... what a holy place to hold his blessing. Thank you everyone for sharing about David.
