On August 29, 2009, David's 40- day memorial gathering at Toualame Meadows, Yosemite coincided with the rich funeral mass for Senator Edward Kennedy at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica in Boston, MA. President Obama's eulogy remembers the "Lion of the Senate" in a personal speech he wrote himself.
